Easter is more than chocolate and the National Trust - more than a once a year celebration. Easter is a way of daily living. Following the teachings and in living [as best we can] the Way of Jesus primarily involves us in constant, compassionate, sacrificial action towards others. Each costly little death to self is a Good Friday experience that is always followed by an Easter Day resurrection. This will lead us into a renewed life of justice and peace designed by God to change this world for the benefit of all.

Each act of dying to self is a new converting moment in our daily walk with Jesus. Such a life style empowers and enables us to be reborn, little by little, towards and into the fullness of humanity where we will experience more of the Divine. In living the Way of Jesus - the Good Friday death and the Easter Day resurrection story - we are saved from any “me me me” attitude in which my gain is at another's loss.

Daily living of the Easter story is the Way, the Truth and the Life. It is the way of the cross that is always followed [but not necessarily immediately] by new life to both the giver and the receiver. In following the compassionate self-sacrificing Way of Jesus we will never be the same again. And so, may yours be a happy and life changing Easter experience every day of the coming year!
